Privacy

This website collects almost nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies. This page explains the little there is.

Who we are

New Testament Church of God, Burton on Trent, 100a Sydney Street, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 2QY. If you have a question about anything here, email info@ntcgburton.org.uk.

What is stored on your device

This site sets no cookies. There is one thing it saves in your browser: if you press Like on a Pastor’s Thought, your browser remembers that you did, so the button still shows as liked when you come back.

That record is the word “liked” against the article’s name. It is not an identifier, it is never sent anywhere, and it cannot be used to recognise you here or on any other website. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it, and the Like button carries on working without it.

What is stored on our servers

A count of how many people have liked each article. That is a number attached to an article — it holds nothing about who pressed the button, and there is no way to work backwards from it to a person.

Nothing else about your visit is stored by us.

Contacting us

The contact form on this site does not send anything through the website. It opens your own email program with a message ready to send, which means we only receive what you choose to send us, in the ordinary way.

When you do email us, we keep that email so we can reply and, where it is a prayer request or a pastoral matter, so we can follow it up. We do not add you to any mailing list from it, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the church.

Services provided by others

Some parts of the site involve companies other than us. Where that happens, their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.

  • Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Like any web host, it processes the requests your browser makes, including your IP address, to serve pages and protect the site from attack.
  • The map on the contact section draws its imagery from OpenStreetMap. It sets no cookies and needs no account; OpenStreetMap sees only a request for map tiles.
  • Video on the home page and on tribute pages is hosted by YouTube. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play, and it is then embedded in YouTube’s no-cookie mode. Even the still images are fetched by our server rather than by your browser, so YouTube does not see you unless you choose to watch something.
  • Share buttons on articles are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from Facebook, X or WhatsApp unless you choose to use one, and we do not count or record when you do.
  • Giving, our app, and Zoom are separate services on their own websites. Once you follow one of those links you are no longer on this site.

Your rights

Where we hold personal information about you — in practice, an email you have sent us — you have the right to ask what we have, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how it is used. Email info@ntcgburton.org.uk and we will help.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it.
